I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.Suzanne White is an open-hearted professional astrologer and novelist with an intriguing idea to offer — Western Astrology and Chinese Astrology talking to each other. For those unfamiliar with the difference, Western astrology uses twelve zodiac signs based on the position of stars on your birthday, whereas Chinese astrology uses a rotating system based on year of birth. In other books, Suzanne predicts horoscopes based on pairing the signs devised that way. In this book, however, she writes about each system separately, encouraging you to look at your romance and sex from each perspective alternately.Suzanne’s writing is of the highest quality — something not always to be counted on in astrology books by other authors. As a novelist also, she clearly has a flair for character and has a sense of the kinds of people there are in the world and how they react to each other. This makes the book entertaining reading for an author like me.How useful is The Astrology of Love? Astrology is of course an art, not a science, and so it’s only as good as the astrologer who practices it. Suzanne is the best kind of astrologer: a sincere and perceptive person, and accordingly, this book provides great food for thought regardless of your beliefs about astrology. It’s also good as a Westerner’s introduction to Chinese astrology (a topic which I don’t know as much about as I do about Western and Vedic). If you want to think about your relationships and romance, then this book is sure to please you, and it’s great for starting discussions with friends and family on those topics too. So on the basis of that, and the excellent, clear and friendly writing style, I give Suzanne White five stars.

I have had this book for almost 15 years and it has become a well-thumbed, much loved classic reference book on my bookshelf. Suzanne White has a considered, unique take on the inner workings of human relationships. Having developed an accessible but unerringly accurate synthesis of Western and Chinese astrology in her book ‘The New Astrology’, in ‘the Astrology of Love’ White moves her attention in for kill at the arena of love. Wonder no more whether you and your flirtation are destined to see eye to eye. White takes a wry, humorous and compassionate eye to human mating – rarely will she dismiss a less obvious pairing without offering some directions or insights that might help you make the best of a challenging dynamic, and she always backs up her assertions with explanations WHY a certain couple might gel seamlessly, or conversely might need to, you know, just WORK at it a bit more. A classic in my view! You will not be disappointed…

As the phrase goes, better late than never. If only I had known about The Astrology of Love when it was originally published. It would have saved me a lot of heartache and grief through my 20′s. This amazing book helped me put closure to some very unanswered questions I had towards ex’s. Everything made so much more sense, like a moment of clarity when I realized my Aquarius/Rooster ex NEVER wanted children, despite saying he did to make me happy. This is a book I highly recommend to any person who is struggling to find their mate or who has questions as to why someone you like/dated, behaved a certain way. Not only is it an amazingly helpful insight book, it’s just a darn good read in general. You just can’t go wrong with The Astrology of Love. Suzanne knows what she’s doing.
