Many of us discover feng shui only to learn that, from a feng shui perspective, our current residence was an unfortunate choice. Moving offers us a chance to start over and get it right.
Here are six feng shui tips for moving:
1. Use feng shui principles in selecting your new home. Look for a front door that faces south and is not overwhelmed by a large body of water or overly large building too close, a road or large pointed objects aimed at it, or other major faults.
Most faults can be remedied, but why not make it easier on yourself by avoiding major faults if possible?
2. Watch out for major faults indoors as well. For example, make sure there is not a toilet directly above the kitchen, a bathroom next door to the kitchen, or a bathroom door directly across from the kitchen door.
En suite bathrooms attached to bedrooms are undesirable from a feng shui perspective as well.
3. Draw at least a rough floor plan and superimpose the bagua on it. Make sure the layout of the house or apartment does not completely leave out any major sections of the bagua.
If large areas are left out, make sure there is a way to remedy or make up for the missing parts.
4. Be creative about how you use the rooms in your new dwelling. Sometimes repurposing certain rooms can vastly improve their feng shui power.
You might find it much better to use a bedroom as an office, because it is in the knowledge area, while a sunroom becomes a bedroom, because it is in the relationship area. Keep an open mind.
5. Take the excuse of moving to get rid of as much household clutter as possible. Donate whatever no longer serves you. That will help make room for the flow of good chi in your new residence.
6. For many people their link to TV entertainment, sports, and news is what makes a dwelling a home. When placing electronics such as television and internet connections, aim for the knowledge area. That is true both for the main knowledge area of the bagua and for the knowledge area of individual rooms.
Electronics add good chi to the knowledge area. That makes Direct TV, for example, better from a feng shui perspective than broadcast reception.
It should be easy to locate a Directtv service provider in your area, whether you need Direct TV in TX, CA, NY, or FL, you can simply do a quick search on line. Now you are ready to receive information, education, and entertainment in the important knowledge area of your dwelling.
Now you are ready to decorate and enjoy your new home.
