Building your own dream home can be very exciting, especially if you decide to use feng shui architecture techniques to help you do it. The Shape of Your House

If possible, you should choose to build a home that’s a regular square or rectangular shape. These allow symmetry and balance in the house shape. Feng shui architecture suggests that your kitchen be located on the right side of the house, next to the family dining room. Disagreements and arguments between your family will ensue if it’s too far away from the dining room, especially between children and parents.

A large mirror in the dining room that reflects the bounty or food on the table is great for wealth luck and good fortune. Make sure it isn’t hanging too low that it visually cuts off the heads of the reflections of people in it.

Layouts of your Bathroom and Toilets

Make sure that there are no doors facing either of these areas. More importantly, you should position the toilet away from the view when looking in from outside the bathroom.

The wealth and prosperity energy of you and your family can be flushed away so be sure to close the bathroom doors at all times. Avoid having them in the north areas of your home, where career energy is focused so opportunities can’t be missed and flushed away.

Your Windows

Regularly shaped windows that open outwards are best to use in your home. Inward opening windows symbolize bad luck for your career or wealth.

Windows that slide up or down or even have a offensive view like a brick wall or any protruding objects should also be avoided, so if possible change their location before construction starts.

Be careful not to add too may windows as this too can be harmful. Disagreements with other family members, most between parents and children will follow so don’t plan for too many windows.

The Stairs

Homes with levels of 2 or more should consider having interlinking staircases that are broad and curve gracefully, from the first floor the the main floor for example, and ideally into a large hall.

Spiral staircase should be avoided all together. Make sure that they don’t start from the main door to your house as this will allow the chi in your home to flow right out. Stair steps should not have gaps between them as it symbolizes money flowing out.

Rounded, smooth edged banisters on the stairs are preferred along with good lighting throughout the staircase to bring good energy to the upstairs sleeping areas.
